Privacy Policy

Effective date: 31 August 2026

GS Ballistic Suite respects user privacy. This policy explains the information processed by the application, why it is used, and the choices available to users.

1. Information created by the user

The application may store information entered or generated by the user, including rifle and ammunition profiles, ballistic settings, target cards, range cards, shooting sessions, load-development records, notes, weather snapshots, selected photographs, audio notes and backup files.

2. Local storage

Application data is primarily stored locally on the user's device. GS Ballistic Suite does not operate a general user-account system for synchronising this information to a developer-controlled cloud service.

3. Location information

Location access may be used to obtain latitude, support environmental calculations, retrieve phone weather and assist ballistic functions that depend on geographic position. Location is not used for advertising or sold to third parties.

4. Bluetooth

Bluetooth scan, connect and advertise capabilities are used to discover and communicate with supported external devices, including compatible weather meters and Range Viewer functionality. Bluetooth data is processed to provide the feature requested by the user.

5. Camera, photographs and audio

Camera access is used only when a user chooses to capture an image within the application. Microphone access is used for user-initiated voice notes. Images and recordings remain under the user's control unless the user deliberately exports or shares them.

6. Internet access and external services

Internet access may be used for weather retrieval, application-related online services, licensing or purchase functions when enabled, and links opened by the user. External service providers may process technical request information according to their own privacy terms.

7. Purchases and billing

In-app module and Full Suite unlocks are processed entirely through Google Play Billing. Google, not GS Ballistic Suite, collects and processes payment details (such as card number and billing address) under Google's own privacy policy. GS Ballistic Suite only receives a purchase/entitlement confirmation from Google Play, used to unlock the relevant module locally on-device — no purchase-history account is created or stored on any developer-controlled server.

8. Crash and diagnostic reporting

The application uses Firebase Crashlytics, a Google service, to automatically report app crashes and unhandled errors so stability problems can be identified and fixed. A report may include a stack trace or error message, device model, operating system version, app version, and other technical diagnostic data. It does not include rifle, load, session, or other shooting data entered in the app. Crashlytics is provided and operated by Google under its own privacy policy.

9. Backups and exports

Backup files are generated only when initiated by the user. A backup may contain personal profile information, rifle and load information, sessions, cards, settings, photographs or recordings. Exported files are not encrypted by default unless the application explicitly states otherwise. Users should store and transfer them securely.

10. Data sharing and sale

GS Ballistic Suite does not sell user personal information. Data is not shared for behavioural advertising. Information may be disclosed only when required by law, to protect legal rights, or when necessary to provide a user-requested external service.

11. Data security

Reasonable technical measures are used to protect application data, including disabling standard Android application backup where configured. No storage method is completely secure. Users are responsible for device security and exported files.

12. Data retention and deletion

Locally stored information remains until the user deletes it, clears application data, uninstalls the application, or restores a backup that replaces it. Users can delete records through available in-app controls. Uninstalling the application generally removes its local application data, subject to Android behaviour and user-created exports.

13. Children

The application is intended for adults and lawful firearm users. It is not directed to children under 13. Local age and firearm laws may impose higher minimum ages.

14. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when features, legal requirements or data practices change. The effective date will be revised when material updates are published.

15. Contact

Privacy enquiries may be sent to support@gsbs.co.za.

Important: This policy must remain aligned with the final production build and the Google Play Data safety declaration.
