TRANSPARENCY

Permissions & Data Usage

Why the Android application requests access to device capabilities.

Internet

Used for phone weather, application-related online services, and automatic crash/diagnostic reporting (Firebase Crashlytics). The app may remain usable offline for features that rely only on locally available data.

Camera

Used only when the user elects to capture photographs for supported records or media fields.

Microphone and audio settings

Used for user-initiated voice notes and appropriate audio routing while recording or playing supported audio.

Location

Used to obtain GPS coordinates and support phone weather and ballistic functions that require geographic position. On older Android versions, location permission may also be required for Bluetooth discovery.

Bluetooth scan

Discovers nearby supported Bluetooth Low Energy devices. The production manifest declares that Android 12+ scanning is not used to derive physical location.

Bluetooth connect

Connects to and exchanges required data with compatible devices selected by the user.

Bluetooth advertise

Allows supported Range Viewer or peripheral-sharing functions to advertise a Bluetooth service to nearby compatible devices.

Notifications

Used for License Vault expiry reminders, which are scheduled on the device and arrive even when the app is closed, and for the ongoing notification that keeps an SG Pulse Pro shot timer running in the background. Requested when you save a licence with an expiry date. Reminders are scheduled inexactly, so no exact-alarm permission is needed.

Foreground service (connected device)

Keeps the app running while an SG Pulse Pro shot timer is active, so the timer isn't cut off when the app is in the background. It runs only during a timer and stops when the timer ends.

User choice: Permissions may be denied through Android settings. The related feature may then be unavailable, but unrelated app functions should continue where technically possible.
