Requirements and supported workflows

Compatibility depends on Android version, hardware capabilities, permissions and the app version installed.

Android devices

The app needs Android 7.0 (Nougat) or newer. Use a modern Android phone with location services and sufficient local storage. Bluetooth Low Energy is not required to install or use the app — it's only needed for the optional weather-meter, powder-dispenser and Range Viewer features. Performance may vary by manufacturer and Android power-management settings.

Bluetooth weather devices

GS Ballistic Suite is designed to work with compatible Bluetooth environmental meters implemented by the app. Exact support may vary by firmware and app release.

Before field use: confirm discovery, connection, data refresh and snapshot application with your specific device.

Bluetooth powder dispensers

The Universal Loader tool (under Tools / Utilities) supports two confirmed, tested BLE protocols: AutoTrickler V4 and RCBS ChargeMaster Link. AutoTrickler V3 (BT05) uses the same connection flow but has not yet been verified against real V3 hardware. RCBS ChargeMaster Supreme and MatchMaster are implemented but not yet verified against real hardware — they appear in a scan marked Untested, with Connect disabled until verified.

Bluetooth cant indicators

SG Pulse, a Shooters Global rifle-cant indicator, is confirmed working against real hardware via the SG Pulse tool under Tools / Utilities. Both the standard Pulse and the Pro model are supported; the Pro's onboard Timer/Alerts run on the unit itself, while a standard Pulse runs the same Timer and Alerts on the phone instead.

Phone sensors

GPS, compass, camera and microphone features require the corresponding hardware and Android permissions. Compass accuracy depends on calibration and local magnetic interference.

Known environmental limitations

  • Indoor GPS may be unavailable or inaccurate.
  • Metal structures and electronics can disturb compass readings.
  • Battery optimisation may interrupt background Bluetooth behaviour.
  • Weather services require internet access when online data is requested.
